2008-09 Tax Season Results

The Regional Earned Income Tax Credit Collaborative enjoyed great success in the 2008-09 tax-filing season, thanks to the generous support of our Regional Partners including VITA, AARP and Benefit Bank.  A team of over 361 volunteers staffed 79 Free Tax Prep Sites in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky to prepare and electronically file at no charge, a total of over 15,815 returns.  Those wage earners received refundable EITC and other tax credits amounting to over $16.6 million, without paying commercial tax preparers and without refund anticipation-loan interest rates.  The generosity of our Regional Partners helped build the community’s awareness and support through coordinated marketing and paid advertising.
